Linking Startegies for Getting Free Traffic
As my pa used to assert,’Money and Time are the only real assets in this world.’ Buying traffic is clearly the most simple way of driving traffic to your site. But you most likely don’t have lots of cash to use for building traffic. I didn’t when I started, either. So, you will just have to invest your other asset - time.
I am giving you some strategies to build traffic that take a large amount of time, but they are fully free and will end in a good amount of focused, not generic, traffic. You will shortly be bringing home enough money to buy traffic if your website is correctly optimized to provide profits. Once you have this rolling and can afford to get traffic, you will have the time to build more web sites.
So, here are the 11 strategies that are sure-fire free traffic getters :
Here is a tip that is so often passed up ; I am not even numbering it : submit your internet site to as many search engines as you can including the big ones like Google, MSN and Yahoo.
One. This method is often known as Bum promoting and has proved to work. Write a number of articles, say 5 to 10, and use free article directories to submit them. To make this work, you need to do 2 things : optimize the articles for a minimum of one keyword that your internet site targets and be sure to include a link to your internet site in your bio box.
Two. Leave topical comments that include a back link to your website on blogs you find that are related to your subject. Go to answers.yahoo.com and find questions related to the subject on your internet site and answer them. Also, locate, join and become active in posting in popular forums that are focused on your website’s subject. Be sure to include your website’s link in your signature.
Three. This will have a major impact. If you are not familiar with publicity releases, take some time to research how they are written before you attempt it as they don’t seem to be drafted in the same was an article is. After you know how, write a PR release. Then submit some differentiations of it to a few publicity release sites along the lines of prweb.com.
Four. You may know of a service you have used and like. Offer to pen your unprejudiced testimonial in exchange for a back link to your site.
Five. This is a good one since blogs are so well-liked. Kick off your own blogs on wordpress.com and blogger.com. Be sure to put a link back to your internet site in them and submit your blogs to the various blog directories that are available absolutely free. Keep your blogs updated regularly and you will pull in a surplus of traffic.
6. There are quite a few free classified ad sites such as craigslist.com where you can post advertisements with your link. Live links can be posted in the best ones but post in the ones that don’t allow it anyhow. Write a good ad and folk will be inspired to copy and paste or type your web address in their browsers anyway. Be sure you put your ad in the right category or it can’t help you much.
Seven. Get traffic every time you send an e-mail by putting your internet site’s link in your email signature. This is a straightforward one!
Eight. Social bookmarking sites such as Myspace are good places for traffic generation. Start a page on as many as you will find and be sure your link is posted there in a straightforward to find place. Squidoo.com is another nice choice. Open some accounts and create topical lenses to your website that include your link.
9. Youtube is an excellent spot to submit a viral video. You don’t even need to be well informed in video production, just make a simple, applicable slideshow in PowerPoint, include some nice background music and it will get the task finished nicely.
Ten. Use Google to search your main keywords. This could help you find related sites in the top results that might allow you to exchange reciprocated links.
11. Write a short report or e-book up to 20 pages or so, or find one that has the rights brand it with your link and give it away. Then find several free electronic book directories and submit it. This can be repeated with many such ebooks or reports.
Though not free, this tip is worth putting a little money into. Make a listing of differentiations or misspellings of your own domain name and/or those of some of your competition. Get a good one that is available and use it to send traffic to your internet site thru redirection.
Looks like a lot of work, doesn’t it? It is but you don’t have to do all of them, al least not all at the same time. Choose 1 or 2 you are feeling comfortable doing and do those now. Commit 30 minutes to an hour each day to free traffic building. Then select another one or two once the first two are established and before you know it, you will have enough cash to buy traffic. Then you will be ready to concentrate your efforts and time to build up your web business.
Google wants to see one-way links (or at least what it believes are one-way links). You can check out this 3WayLinks review and it might help you out. Google gives a nice boost to sites whose domain name exactly matches the search query. Google will only rank sites whose links follow a very specific linking pattern. Also, check out my Instant Article Wizard Pro review as this is a top tool that is revolutionary in that it allows you to write high quality articles in an automated way which will help your link building activities too.
